Why are Alcohol and Tobacoo ads such a Hot Topic??

I feel that alcohol and tobacco advertising are hot topics because they are two of the biggest selling products in America. Also not only in the U.S. but they are also big overseas and in other countries. They have some of the highest income rate of sales. Tobacco and cigarette products make 269,970 dollars alone!! Alcohol income is 170,321 dollars per year.

They have the money that is possible to create these advertisements. These advertisements are put together to make it look like this is the hot thing to do. It presents itself in such a way that leads you to believe that certain things will happen to you by achieving this look. This leads to the consumer population to go out and buy this product in hopes to e able to imitate and achieve what they saw in the ad. At this point they continue to use the product until it eventually becomes an addiction and they are still shelling out money to buy the product.

Urban Legends "The Boyfriends Death"

One Urban Legend goes by the name of “The Boyfriends Death.” This one is about when a couple is on their way home from an event at about one in the morning and the car runs out of gas in the middle of nowhere and the boyfriend goes out to get help. After she waited for a while she sees a shadow come across on her lap. She looks up in the window to see a strange looking man staring at her through the window. He rose up his right hand and in his hand is her boyfriend’s decapitated head. In his other hand are the keys to the car that she is sitting in. This is one of my favorite Urban Legends becausei t is fairly scary and it puts the image of what is going on in the story.

Blogging So Far.....

Blogging so far for me has been kind of fun. You get to create your own profile and add alot of fun things for visitors to do. You get to put blogs up here about whatever you want and it exercises your freedom of speech. You can add different elements of media from different websites. Add music and videos. Put your own videos up there as well as media updates and things. It has that feeling of being able to call something your own. Something that you created.

VIolence Is....

To me media violence is any form of violence being show on tv, in literature, or on the radio. Violence is being portrayed and being shown all over the place in today's media. Gun violence and murder violence is the most common type of violence. You always see these type of cases on the news and hearing about them on the radio. There is also violence in books and magazines. There is usually a portion or a scene in a story about some type of violence that is being shown or demontrated. It keeps the reader interested into it by having a controversial effect or change on the story plot. It usually affects the main character in some sort of way. Violence is not good in any way.
